Barry Deleon-Lee is a cybersecurity and technology risk professional with experience supporting national security, defense, and federal civilian organizations. Throughout his career, he has advised leadership on cybersecurity, risk management, governance, and technology modernization initiatives within some of the federal government's most complex operating environments.
Barry co-founded Cytadel to bring the discipline he learned inside the federal government to organizations navigating the same complexity from the outside. He has spent more than 13 years working across the Pentagon, the Department of Homeland Security, and United States Space Force. At the Pentagon, Barry helped stand up the cybersecurity program for a newly formed Space Force headquarters, building the governance structures and technical processes the mission needed from the ground up. At DHS headquarters, he served as a senior information systems security manager, advising leadership across multiple mission areas and leading remediation efforts to strengthen the department's security posture. He currently supports Space Force as a cybersecurity risk management consultant.
Barry began his career in the United States Navy, where he spent more than eight years on active duty as an Aerographer's Mate, supporting oceanographic and meteorological operations along with the technical systems behind them in high-security environments. That technical grounding still shapes how he approaches the engineering side of cybersecurity work today.
Barry holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Policy from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a Master of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity Risk Management from Georgetown University, and a Master of Science in Technology Leadership from Brown University. He also holds an executive certificate from the University of Oxford and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
